1. The format of this review book is very unique — it starts with a clinical case, explains it step by step, goes over the differential diagnosis and explains why other choices from the differential are less likely or entirely wrong.

2. This is a fantastic book which is a thin comprehensive study guide to prepare you for step three. It is Made up of multiple case studies which are similar to what will be seen on your step three exam.

1. Outstanding EM clerkship text for any rotating student, including those interested in applying to EM residents. Reading and mastering this book alone should help any student ace the USMLE step 2 exam (EM represents a sizable share of the exam). Would also be very useful for PGY1 or PGY2 residents in order to prepare for the national inservice exams. Highly recommended!

Jorge Fernandez, MD

Director of Medical Student Education, Department of Emergency Medicine, LA County-USC Medical Center

2. I am a 4th year medical student who read this book during my emergency medicine rotation at Cook County. This book is very well written and high yield. It is to the point and concise and was very helpful for my exam. The book is full of high-yield facts and also detailed enough to provide a wide range of knowledge. I highly recommend this book for anyone going into Emergency Medicine or rotating in an ED.

1. The best thing i liked about this book is its clear, concise presentation of a complex subject. It is an excellent review book with outstanding presentation.what it is not is – it is’nt a comprehensive book for medicine but it covers all the common and high yield topics in internal medicine.Deals on the basis of symptomatology and diseases, a problem oriented approach which is very useful for usmle step2 and 3. The discussions deal with the disease, the clinical presentation, differential diagnosis and the diagnostic evaluation and treatment, all this in a very readable 3-4 pages with a summary of the keypoints at the end.The diagnostic evaluation and treatment part is very thorough.A must for anyone preparing for usmle step2 and 3. I highly recommend this book.

2. A good ,comprehensive book for step-2 preparation may not cover all the topics but since Internal Medicine is so vast a topic only a book like Harrison can do justice. But then who has time to read Harrison? This is the next best alternative

3. STUDENT QUOTES

“The important details are highlighted, preventing the reader form getting bogged down in boring, unimportant text.”

” I thought it was an outstanding overview of difficult material.”

From the Back Cover

This book is one of five in the Blueprints Series. This title presents the principles of Internal Medicine in a succinct format that complements the structure of the USMLE Step 2 exam. It can be used as a stand-alone text for the Internal Medicine clinical rotation, or in conjunction with other titles in the series for a comprehensive review for the USMLE Step 2 & 3 exams. The second edition of this book will include 125 clinical vignette style questions at the end of the book.

The series format is consistent for all five titles; each title presents short expositions on one of the five key clinical topics.
